AutoFlight completes autonomous cargo eVTOL flight at Shanghai Pudong Airport

On May 13, 2024, AutoFlight successfully tested its V2000CG Carry All, an autonomous cargo eVTOL, at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. This marked the first test of such a large eVTOL at a Class 4F airport, capable of handling all aircraft types. Despite being a cargo aircraft, AutoFlight aims to use it for quick airport-to-city center transfers, which take about 10 minutes by air.

Earlier, on May 6, 2024, AutoFlight demonstrated the V2000CG in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, completing a 41-minute flight covering 123 km. Abu Dhabi is becoming a hub for advanced air mobility, attracting companies like Archer, Joby, and EHang, which recently demonstrated passenger flights.

AutoFlight’s Carry All received its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in February 2024. The company is also seeking certification for the passenger version, the five-seater Prosperity.
