Goris Airport possible reopening study

The Armenian Ministry of Territorial Development and Infrastructures is examining the feasibility of reopening Goris Airport. This initiative includes assessing the restoration of the airport's infrastructure, such as the terminal building and runway. The cost and timeline for this restoration will be determined following the completion of these preliminary studies. Goris Airport, situated near the village of Khot, operated in the late 70s and could accommodate up to 8 flights daily, with An-2 and Yak-40 aircraft flying from Yerevan. It closed in 1991. This move to potentially restart the airport was confirmed by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Gnel Sanosyan.
