Nigeria Federal Government to Reimburse Kebbi, Nasarawa States N24 Billion for Airport Projects

President Bola Tinubu has requested Senate approval for reimbursing over N15 billion to Kebbi State and N9 billion to Nasarawa State for airport construction projects.

The federal government has taken control of the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi and the Lafia Cargo Airport in Nasarawa, necessitating the reimbursement.

Tinubu emphasized that aviation is under the federal government's jurisdiction according to the constitution. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the reimbursement through promissory notes, and now the Senate's concurrence is sought for the approval.
