The Government of Pará, via the State Secretariat of
Transportation (Setran), completed the construction, paving,
and signaling of the Novo Progresso Aerodrome's runway,
located in the Tapajós Integration Region, in Pará's southwest.
This project marks a collaboration between the state government
and the Municipal City Hall of Novo Progresso.
Governor Helder Barbalho emphasized the significance of this
event, stating it demonstrates the State's dedication to
supporting the local community. He said, "That's why we are
delivering today one of the most important works of this
municipality, the airport. This facility not only provides a
quicker access to health services for those in urgent need of
medical attention but also attracts investors to Novo Progresso,
promoting economic growth through new business opportunities,
employment, and income for residents. This achievement is
celebrated as a cooperative effort with the city hall," Barbalho
said.
The Novo Progresso Aerodrome is the third of its kind
constructed by Setran, following others in Salinópolis and São
Félix do Xingu. Adler Silveira, the head of Setran,
highlighted the importance of these developments, noting, "These
are investments that ensure the structure of the airway mode,
bringing greater safety to landing and takeoff operations,
guaranteeing the right to come and go for those who live in all
regions of Pará."
