Shymkent Airport new terminal more expensive, needs more land

The cost of building a new terminal at Shymkent Airport has increased. The investor needs to buy 6 hectares of land for infrastructure installation.

Construction had been delayed due to legal issues. The new terminal, when finished, will handle up to 2,000 passengers and 16 aircraft. The technical opening is planned for the end of this year, but full operation will begin next year. The land will be bought in four payments, costing over 800 million tenge.
