Sibiu Airport expansion to be completed by year-end

The Sibiu Airport in Romania is set to complete its expansion by the end of 2023, as announced by Daniela Cîmpean, president of the Sibiu County Council. This expansion will transform the airport into one of the most modern in the country.

The terminal area will increase from 6,200 to 22,400 square meters, enhancing its passenger handling capacity to up to 2.5 million passengers per year. This upgrade will not only double the airport's processing capacity but also its operational surface area.

The airport management is actively engaging with air operators to introduce new flight options. The investment aims to improve conditions for both passengers and airline operators.

Con-A won last year the Sibiu Airport expansion contract, worth 54 million euros, contracted by the Sibiu County Council.
