uAvionix has been chosen by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide its FlightLine ADS-B surveillance system to enhance surface situational awareness at U.S. airports. This system aims to reduce the risk of runway incursions. Initially, it will be deployed at airports that lack existing surface surveillance systems.

The FlightLine system is part of the FAA's Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI), which seeks to extend surveillance capabilities to over 230 potential airports using ADS-B technology. The system can also defend against ADS-B spoofing.

Installations are set to be operational by June 30, 2024, starting with Indianapolis and Austin-Bergstrom International Airports. This technology is crucial for improving safety in air traffic control and is available for direct procurement by airports or Federal Contract Towers.
