VEB.RF and Sberbank to finance Orenburg Airport new terminal construction

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024, VEB.RF and Sberbank agreed to finance the reconstruction of Orenburg's international airport. This project, costing 18.6 billion rubles, will utilize the Project Financing Factory mechanism, with 14.9 billion rubles funded by financial partners.

This initiative aims to increase passenger traffic at Orenburg Airport to 2 million annually. The runway has already been reconstructed, and the new terminal is set to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025. The terminal will have a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour, a car park with 500 parking spaces, and a total area exceeding 23,000 square meters. The design, inspired by a lace Orenburg downy scarf, is not yet finalized.
