The Minister of Transport of Yemen's caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, announced plans to upgrade and develop Sana'a International Airport and to restore and rehabilitate Taiz and Hodeida international airports as key priorities for this year.

During a visit to Sanaa Airport, along with Dr. Muhammad Abdel Qader, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Al-Durra highlighted that Sanaa Airport is set for significant development in technical aspects and infrastructure, aiming to enhance air navigation services for civil flights to various destinations, especially after the full siege of the airport is lifted.

The upgrade includes installing new technical equipment to handle the expected increase in passenger traffic and flights. Furthermore, the development of the airport's main runway and apron is a priority, with projects to be executed by the General Organization for Roads and Bridges to international standards. The Civil Aviation Authority's efforts in preparing strategic plans and self-financing significant projects were also acknowledged, with implementations to follow International Aviation Organization (ICAO) specifications within the year.
